THE BUS STOP - September 7, 2009
Each afternoon around 5:30 pm I take a bus to work.
One day about a year ago as I arrived at the bus stop I noticed a pleasant looking lady waiting for the same bus. I had never seen her before. As we passed the time we entered into conversation....about the lateness of the bus....the damp cool weather.....and the sometimes difficult challenges of life in a big city.
The bus came. We got on and sat across the aisle from one another.
As I was searching through my briefcase for work related paperwork, I noticed a copy of my cd Reflections of Light....just sitting there...waiting to be shared. So..........I reached over to the lady from the BUS STOP and handed it to her....saying...."I think you might enjoy this....it may help you relax." Surprised.....she thanked my and assured that she would give it a listen.
A couple of days after the BUS STOP meeting....I received a telephone message. To my surprise...it was from the lady at the BUS STOP and this is the essence of her message.
"Hello Jon. I don't know whether you remember me or not.
I met you at the BUS STOP the other day and you gave me a cd. When I arrived home I played it completely through and I cannot tell you how deeply it touched my heart. My mother died just a few weeks ago. Her lengthy illness was a very painful journey. She and I were very close and since her death I have been in a very dark pit of saddness. I have prayed that God would take my "saddness burden" and lift me up by His mercy and grace.
Your cd gift...the beautiful music and especially the voice and spoken words of comfort have soothed my soul and brought me into a place of peace. I have already listened to it many times.
Jon, I believe you were placed at THE BUS STOP as a special angel...just to minister to my heart through your Spirit inspired music. Thank you
again and perhaps we will meet again."
